Being green is something I'm trying to be better at. We have a garage full of recycling I need to take in right now, so I haven't quite gotten in the habit, but hey - at least it's not in the landfill! I'm even getting Avery in the act. Even the smallest things can make a difference. I at least try to take the cardboard and glass in regularly. As we get more organized, I'd like to set up a nice recycling center in the garage, instead of the spare laundry baskets and old trash can method I'm using now. A compost heap would be good too - especially when we move to a house where I can have a vegetable garden. Someday...
And about the outfit: I usually don't dress monochromatically because it can feel a little boring to me. (Except for that black phase I went through a few years ago, apparently. Thought I was being dramatic.) But this is ok, because I have little cats all over my skirt, and the argyle on this comfy, oversized sweater makes it fun.
This outfit is a little less structured than I usually prefer, but it made me feel good, even if it might not be the most flattering for my body type. Sometimes, you just gotta go for comfort. I could have brought it all in with a belt like I usually do, but it would have broken the line of the argyle, and I just didn't want to!
I got these brogues from ModCloth last month, and I've been itching to wear them. They are really comfortable, and make great bike shoes. (I actually did ride my bike around the park this morning, it's not just a prop!)
I took these pictures around 10:30 in the morning, and light was bouncing around like crazy. I don't typically have the ability to take outfit selfies in the early morning or evening when the light is best, because that's family time. Or hectic get out the door time.
I was in a pretty shady spot in the hosta garden, so I was able to use my 50mm lens fairly open. The roses I had to photograph in full sun with a lens hood on my 85mm, with the shutter speed pretty high. It was blown out pictures all over the place. But it was a gorgeous sunny day. And everyone I met was in a good mood, and didn't make me feel weird with my tripod. And that was nice, too.
