Accessories can take an outfit from ordinary to exciting so easily. Vintage brooches, earrings (you can even use the clip-on kind as shoe clips) and necklaces can be quite the conversation starter. Because I tend to like simple, structured cuts with my clothing, adding a statement piece of jewelry or a scarf can really make the difference between "blah" and interesting in an outfit. Most of the pieces pictured above were either gifts from my mom and sister, or items I picked up thrifting, for a song.
I recently purchased this Pantone-inspired scarf from Hautelook for just $20. The Pantone palette is kind of fascinating to me - and the fact that all trends and colorways are predicted from this palette in the fashion and design industry is pretty cool if you think about it. Can't wait to pair this with a plain white t-shirt, skinnies and ankle boots. I love scarves. They are so versatile and super easy to tie on as you head out the door.
This eagle statement necklace was a recent buy from Shoedazzle. It is very bling-y, but kinda makes me feel like a rock star. Everyone wants to feel like a rock star from time to time, right?
I've had this little vintage bee since I was in my twenties. He looks so sweet perched on a lapel or a collar.
This straw bag was a $1.99 flea-market find. You don't have to break the bank when you accessorize. I'm all about cheap. I get way more compliments on this than I ever did on my one and only designer bag.
How about you? Do you add pizzazz with unique and eye-catching accessories, or are you a minimalist?
Love that pantone inspired scarf!
Thanks for your sweet comment on my post today!
